IELTS Academic Writing vs IELTS General Writing – Giống và khác nhau như thế nào?
Khi nói đến IELTS Writing, chúng ta đều biết rằng có 2 loại: IELTS Academic và General. Tuy mục đích chung là dùng để đánh giá năng lực viết của thí sinh, giữa IELTS Academic và IELTS General vẫn có một số khác biệt nhất định. Chúng ta hãy cùng tìm hiểu những sự khác biệt đó nhé để lên chiến lược luyện thi IELTS cấp tốc phù hợp nhé!
1. IELTS Academic Writing
Bài thi IELTS Academic Writing được chia làm 2 phần như sau:
Phần 1
Thí sinh sẽ phải diễn tả lại thông tin và số liệu có sẵn ở đề bài theo cách của mình với độ dài tối thiểu là 150 từ trong vòng chưa đến 20 phút.
Ví dụ:
WRITING TASK 1
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

The graph below shows the consumption of 3 spreads from 1981 to 2007. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. |

The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015. Phần 2
Đề bài yêu cầu thí sinh phải viết một bài luận với độ dài tối thiểu là 250 từ để thể hiện quan điểm cá nhân cùng với lời giải thích về một vấn đề nào đó trong xã hội.
Ví dụ:
WRITING TASK 2
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Write about the following topic:
| Some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages together. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? |
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.
WRITING TASK 2
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Write about the following topic:
| Many people believe that social networking sites (such as Facebook) have had a huge negative impact on both individuals and society. To what extent do you agree? |
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.

2. IELTS General Writing
Bài thi IELTS General Writing cũng chia làm 2 phần nhưng có sự khác nhau nhỏ so với bài thi IELTS Academic Writing như sau:
Phần 1
Khác với Task 1 của IELTS Academic Writing, Task 1 của IELTS General Writing sẽ yêu cầu thí sinh viết câu trả lời cho một tình huống, chủ yếu là yêu cầu viết thư cho người thân hoặc công ty với tối thiểu là 150 từ.
Ví dụ:
Task 1
You should spend about 20 minutes on it.

A friend has agreed to look after your house and pet while you are on holiday. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter
|
Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:

Task 1

Phần 2
Phần này của bài thi IELTS General Writing thì không có điểm khác nhau với phần 2 của bài thi IELTS Academic Writing, đề bài đều yêu cầu viết một bài luận với tối thiểu 250 từ về một chủ đề cho sẵn.
Ví dụ:
Task 2
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Write about the following topic:
| Television dominates the free time for too many people. It can make people lazy and prevent them from socialising with others. Do you agree or disagree? |
Give reason for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.
